Below is a list of gear I recommend you bring with you to the classes listed. Items marked with an asterisk are mandatory.
Basic Firearms Familiarization and Safety:
Pen and paper*. Instructor will provide everything else necessary for this class
NRA Basic Pistol:
For the Classroom:
- Pen*
- Highlighter*

For the range:
- Eye Protection
- Hearing Protection
- Firearm*
- 50 rounds of ammunition*
- At least 2 magazines for pistols (2 speed-loaders for revolvers)
- Cleaning kit accommodating the caliber of your firearm*

NRA Personal Protection in the Home:

Advanced Pistol Course:
CLASSROOM MATERIAL WILL BE COVERED WHILE ON THE RANGE!
For the Range:
- Eye Protection
- Hearing Protection
- Firearm*
- 300 rounds of ammunition* (minimum - the more you have, the more you shoot)
- Quality holster*, strong side / appendix carry okay (i.e. Blackhawk, Comp-Tac, E-HUD, Safari Land, etc.) NO CROSS-DRAW OR SHOULDER RIGS.
- If you are using a tactical vest or harness belt system, NO chest-mounted pistol holsters. **Unless you are in a current military unit and you will be depolying with that system.
- At least 4 magazines for pistols (3 speed-loaders for revolvers)*
- Pistol shooters: Magazine pouch to accommodate 2 magazines*
- Revolver shooters: Speed-loader pouch to accommodate 2 speed-loaders*
- Cleaning kit accommodating the caliber of your firearm*
- Comfortable Clothing (Something you can easily access you firearm in - also, if you carry concealed, you should train in the manner in which you carry)*
- Comfortable shoes
- Secondary pistol - In case your primary one goes down (make sure you have gear to accommodate it as well if you bring one)
- Knee & elbow pads
- Folding chair*
- Hat with brim
- Sun screen
- Bug repellent
- Hand / Wet wipes
- Light lunch
- Open mind (NO egos please)*
